Air Assault Graduation!

Goodness. Have you ever seen 140 men do triangle push ups in unison? Heard them sing their company song? Watched them rappel with 3 feet between the next guy? I DID! What a nice graduation. There were hundred's of people attending the ceremony, and several "top brass" (is there a kitchen cleaner for that?). Out of 300 that tried out (only 140 made it to graduation), David was the oldest. The Commander of his Battalion, and the BIG Commander over the 101st Airborne, congratulated David. Well, there is a "secret handshake". If the top guns feel like you have gone above and beyond, and have set a great example, they pass off a "coin" into your hand during the handshake, these are not just handed out (in 10 years of service, these are his first). He received TWO today. I am so proud of him I almost can't stand it. OK...I would like a secret handshake too! Just let it be...cash. You ROCK, David.

So...we have thunderstorms here almost every day. The power was only out a couple hours today, but is starting up again. I wait and wait for the tornado warning to go off, but...nope. I have my flashlight and crackers ready...but, just waiting.

I had a chance to mow part of the ski slope today in between storms. I'm thinking I should have a "secret handshake" coin for THAT! Do you know what it takes to control a push lawn mower going down a 45 degree angle? Huh?

And as for Dish Network...there is still NO network. I called him Jamal, but his name is Ahmad. I know, it's a current problem I have with names. Well, the concrete foundation he poured yesterday has to be torn up and moved to the front of the lawn, as there are too many trees in the way for the satellite signals. Either that or the neighbor has to cut his 150 ft tree down. SO?

Maybe tomorrow we can rap this "DISH" thing up. They also discovered the receiver is bad and need to replace it as well. See what happens when you add crap to your life? More things just fragmentulate (my word for fragmenting and complicate) your world! I'm telling you, life with just a blanket, a mat, and a pan would make it a lot easier.

Well, that's it for now. Hope you all had a great day. Have a good weekend, and do something fun! We love you all, and thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. (I do pray for you as well, so yours isn't wasted).

Love you!

Hello Family and friends!

Just an update about the happenings! You will have to visit in "shifts", as we only purchased enough carpet for ONE bedroom, hallway, and stairs. The other bedroom will be next, along with redoing the bathroom. Then we will all move upstairs and begin working on the master bedroom, walk-in closet, and bath. BUT, we have a great backyard, and a fire pit going in as well. So bring the sleeping bags and smore makin's! Kidding. We also have lizards.

David is, at this very moment, jumping out of a helicopter. Like I said...I am OK with watching Dr. Phil and shopping at Walmart. Leave the crazy stuff to David. He graduates tomorrow, if he is walking and able to do a 12 mile road march/full gear, at 1:30 AM. Do you realize that I get up when he does and make his sandwiches? HHmmm? Huh Carole? HhHmmm? You thought I just had pedicures and chatted with neighbors!

Well, looks like the DISH Network dude (Jamal) is here to finish the set-up. Just wanted to say hi, and hope you all had a great weekend. Can't wait to see some pictures, Darla.

Mom, sounds like you guys had a blast too! Send pictures!
